It is readily available, as it’s a built-in feature of Windows 10. Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen, then choose Settings. You can also use the Windows + I shortcut. Choose Network & Internet from the options.
Set Unidentified Network as a Private or Public. Press the Windows key and then type secpol.msc and click secpol.msc. Click Network List Manager Policies. On the right side, double-click Unidentified Networks. Change the Location type to Private and the User permissions to User can change location. Then click Apply and OK.

We only have deployed a few Windows 7 computers in our network among our savvy computer users willing to test the new OS, and we are getting good feedback from them so most likely we will be deploying new computers with Windows 7 from now on. anyways, one of these users was having a strange problem with her wireless connection… I am getting a Unidentified Network status on my Local Area Connection. I have already tried the following. 1. Restarting Computer and the Router 2. Updating the Network Adapter driver 3. Disabled and Re-enabled Local Area Connection 4. Reset TCP/IP Stack [I followed these instructions Reset Internet Protocol] 5. Uninstalled Comodo Firewall.
