May 26, 2015 · My experience with TMO's wifi-calling was horrible. In my Montreal hotel room, with WiFi, I thought I was calling my wife over wifi. Turns out I was calling over the Rogers Cellular Network (TMO ultimately refunded that). I found that only the strongest wifi systems (like in my house) will enable flawless wifi calling on TMO.

May 17, 2011 · Is there a list of phones (Tmobile branded and unlocked) that support WiFi calling? My brother is a field engineer and will be using a Verizon Hotspot, but won't be able to place calls on his current OnePlus One with a Tmo SIM as it doesn't support WiFi calling.
For WiFi calling on iPhones, Tmobile used to prefer WiFi. However, they changed it awhile ago and now prefer cellular. It will switch to WiFi calling only if your cellular signal gets weak. Like you, I believe that WiFi calling sounds better and has less latency. However, it has been less reliable for me than cellular calling.
I am also having this problem. I have called several times and tech support has not provided a solution. I use wifi calling on my other device and it works fine so it's not a wifi strength issue. They also ruled out it being a device issue. This is a new line/device. I do not have T-mobile service where I live so I rely 100% on wifi calling. Oct 16, 2018 · I've owned a MI Note 3, MI A1, MI Mix 2 and MI Mix 2S and none of those phones had WIFI calling--although people did claim that WIFI calling worked on the A1 if you ran LOS instead of the native stock Android ROM. But the MI A1 is an Android One phone that runs stock Android instead of MIUI and it didn't have WIFI calling.
